Croatian President Ivo Josipovic on Thursday received a delegation of the Indonesian company Global Putra International Group, led by Sumadi Kusuma, and a delegation of the Croatian company Orbico, who informed him about their business cooperation and possibilities of expanding economic cooperation between Croatia and Indonesia.

According to a statement by the President's Office, the two companies, which primarily engage in distribution of commodities, seek to establish an important route for goods from Indonesia and China to Europe and the other way around, in which the Croatian seaports of Ploce and Rijeka could play an important role. They could be joined in the future by the airport of the eastern city of Osijek given that the Indonesian company has expressed an interest in obtaining a concession for the airport.

Josipovic said he was pleased that the Indonesian company had recognised the business opportunities in Croatia, especially the possibility to open a channel for the marketing of Croatian products in Indonesia and China.
